As you might aware with the fact that we are continuously improving and hardening our system to protect the websites of our valued customers from external attacks. Our Level-III engineers have written some new advance level & customized rules of Mod Security which shall protect external attacks upon your websites.

Why should I use the Mod Security rule set?

  • Protection from insecure web application design — Mod Security rule sets can provide a layer of protection for web applications such as WordPress, phpBB, or other types of web applications. It can potentially protect against vulnerabilities in out-of-date web applications that your customers have not patched. If the developer of an application makes a security mistake, Mod Security may block a security attack before it can access the vulnerable application.
  • Protect against generalized malicious traffic — Some of the security threats that server administrators face may not directly attack a program or application on your server. DDoS (Denial of Service) attacks, for example, are common attacks. It is possible to reduce or mitigate the impact of such malicious traffic through the use of Mod Security rules.

The Mod Security provides protections for the following attack/threat categories:

1. HTTP Protection - detecting violations of the HTTP protocol and a locally defined usage policy.
2. Real-time Blacklist Lookups - utilizes 3rd Party IP Reputation.
3. HTTP Denial of Service Protections - defense against HTTP Flooding and Slow HTTP DoS Attacks.
4. Common Web Attacks Protection - detecting common web application security attacks.
5. Automation Detection - Detecting bots, crawlers, scanners and other surface malicious activity.
6. Integration with AV Scanning for File Uploads - detects malicious files uploaded through the web application.
7. Trojan Protection - Detecting access to Trojans horses.
8. Identification of Application Defects - alerts on application misconfigurations.
9. Error Detection and Hiding - Disguising error messages sent by the server.?

You might face some problems if your application is outdated or if there is any vulnerability in your CMS. Please contact to our Customer Support Team and we shall help you to figure out this for you or we shall bypass your website for specific rule if it required.

Thank you for your cooperation in this regard.
