Set up FTP repository backups within Plesk 9

This article will go over setting up your Linux Plesk server to backup to a remote FTP location. Prior to proceeding, make sure you have enough space on the server the backup is going to otherwise the backup will fail.

  1. Log into your Plesk control panel at https://<server_ip_address>:8443
  2. Navigate to Home > Server > Backup Manager.
  3. Click the icon for Personal FTP Repository Settings. Fill out the form fields and then click OK.

  4. Once entered, you can go back to Backup Manager and click the Back Up icon and choose the radio button for Personal FTP repository.

  5. To view what is in the repository, go back to Backup Manager and choose the tab for Personal FTP Repository and it will show any backups that exist there.
